JOB REQUIREMENTS: Scope: This description establishes the dutiesrequired to effectively perform the duties of the Quality ApplicationsTechnician. This is a guideline, and not an all encompassingdescription. Purpose: The purpose of this description is to define thereporting, authority, duties, activities, organizational, and externalrelationships of the Quality Applications Technician. Reporting To:Quality Manager Position Summary: Create and improve programs for allautomated gaging, documents applicable Gage R&Rs, and support processesincluding human factors, quality control & assurance, inspectiontechniques, and organization of resources. Interoperates customerrequirements to create and maintain the PPAP Database. Principal Dutiesand Responsibilities: 1. Act as PPAP Coordinator for Pointe Precision,Inc. 2. Programs automated inspection equipment including but notlimited to: Coordinate Measuring Machine (s), Roundness Checker(s),Vision Based Inspection Equipment, Laser Based Shaft Measurement System,Surface Finish Detection Gages, and Match Grinding Gages. 3. Recommendand improve methods of gage utilization, automated Data collection, andmastery of GD&T. 4. Prove-out Gage Programs and Capabilities via GageR&R studies. 5. Coordinate Gage and System based improvement activitiesto resolve problems, maximize reliability, minimize cost, and increasegage function. 6. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance ofmeasuring and test equipment. 7. Document, coordinate, and maintain allFAI/PPAP activates. 8. Insures compliance to customer PPAP requirementsby creating and maintaining Pointe\'s PPAP/FAI database. 9. Reviews theinternal PPAP process and procedures continually for improvement andstreamlining. 10. Flows the SPC documentation/information to the shopfloor, for data collection. Additional Duties, Responsibilities, andActivities: 1. May conduct training on gage usages and best practicesfor general employees. 2. May have contact with customers and auditors.3. Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities ofthis position. Education/Experience: Requires technical mastery and/orexperience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing or 2 yeartechnical degree in associated field. Direct Reports: None WorkRelationships: Works very closely with supervisors, suppliers,Continuous Improvement Department, and has contact with a wide varietyof internal employees. Has access to highly confidential companyinformation. Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in a pleasantoffice environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Frequentmental and visual concentration for computer usage and calculations.Work hours are normally during regular business hours with occasionalunscheduled overtime as required. Occasional overnight travel may berequired. Completed confidentiality agreement will be required. PhysicalRequirements: May need to bend, stoop, and lift to move materials andretrieve files. Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, using akeyboard and telephone. Some exposure to noise on shop floor. Requiredto use inspection equipment and tools.
