We brought the milkman back in 2001 and have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for 20 years and counting! Over the years, we have grown to be the largest and most efficient home delivery business in the area. 　　We are currently hiring a Purchasing & Procurement Specialist.

　　Our legen-dairy Operations Team ensures SMC is a lean inventory-tracking, cost-effective machine. We are looking for someone who is a multi-tasking guru - this person will maintain up-to-date product and inventory knowledge while working with other teams (we're talking AP, Production, Customer Service, and more) and outside vendors. 

　　Duties include but are not limited to:

　　Manage the purchasing process to include:

　　Inventory evaluation

　　Seeking requisition approvals as needed

　　Purchase order submissions

　　Tracking, and receiving acknowledgments  

　　Inventory updates

　　Purchasing will include both raw materials for our dairy production plants, and finished goods for our retail and home delivery service

　　Work with teammates and management to always maintain an accurate inventory

　　Quarterly inventory audits

　　Work with the accounting team to manage vendor relationships and workflows

　　Work as the main point of contact with vendors

　　Assist Accounts Payable with Questions

　　Assist the receiving team as needed

　　Qualifications:

　　2-4 years of experience in procurement-related roles preferred

　　Interact with staff in a positive and professional manner

　　Meet communicated schedules and deadlines

　　Excellent attention to detail

　　Effectively prioritize multiple tasks

　　Creatively solve problems in a changing environment

　　Proficient with Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word

　　Work as a team player with a positive attitude

　　Excellent oral and written communication skills
