Description
Jenny Bour at Robert Half is currently working with a growing client looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team! The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing a small team of buyers, building and developing relationships with vendors, and with forecasting procurement needs. This may be the role for you if you are an experienced Purchasing Manager with excellent communication, team building, supply chain management and analytical skills.
Some of your responsibilities will include...
Develop and maintain relationships with overseas vendors to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
Conduct negotiations, assess supplier capabilities, and continuously evaluate performance.
Lead and manage a small team of purchasing professionals.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Implement and maintain supplier scorecards to evaluate and improve supplier performance based on key metrics.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with vendors.
Oversee the procurement process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and components.
Mitigate risks and address any delays proactively.
Utilize ERP and MRP systems to optimize inventory levels and streamline the procurement process.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date data within the systems.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing within the manufacturing industry.
Proven experience managing overseas vendors and navigating international supply chain dynamics.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing a small team.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
Proficiency in developing and implementing supplier scorecards.
Thorough understanding of ERP and MRP systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
