JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations and Media Specialist to join the Pratt Miller Motorsports (PMM) team. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with media outlets, creating compelling content, managing social media, planning events, and ensuring effective crisis communication planning. This position is located in our New Hudson, MI or Huntersville, NC office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Media Relations:
Maintain active relationships with key motorsport writers and outlet.Manage ongoing dialogues with IMSA and track PR professionals throughout the seasonIdentify and establish relationships with local market media outlets in NC and MI for future coverageIdentify key online blogs, groups, and influencers relevant to PMMContent Creation:
Write articles for the National Corvette Museum quarterly magazine```{=html}

Social Media Management:
Administer all PMM social media accountsParticipate in The Coastdown Podcast and PMM Alternative StreamEvent Planning:
Assist in race weekend planning with OSK to address and meet goalsAct as a liaison between PMM and OSK for off-track driver appearancesPlan impromptu driver appearances at local market locationsCrisis Communication Planning:
Develop and manage a comprehensive crisis communication plan for PMMAddress a spectrum of crises, including team member deaths, law enforcement issues, and contractual disputesSponsor Relations:
Maintain active dialogues with all team sponsors to ensure PR goals are metActively pitch ideas to sponsors to keep a pipeline of fresh conceptsCommunity Engagement:
Research and engage with groups and organizations in MI and NC for future recruiting and content ideasActively participate in community events on behalf of PMMEndemic/Non-endemic Story Pitching:
