The Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) serves Saint Paul residents and businesses by advancing justice and equity through education, advocacy, and enforcement. The Department of Human Rights & Equal Economic Opportunity is composed of several divisions that perform a diverse array of functions. This position will tie together all aspects of communications to support the department. Typical Duties: Leading department website management and managing communications SharePoint documents Coordinating and posting social media communications Drafting press releases for the department and working with the Mayor's Office to coordinate media engagement for department-specific initiatives Coordinating content, graphic design professional services, and publication of ordinance mandated HREEO and PCIARC annual reports Coordinating publication of other department marketing collateral Creating GovDelivery email communications and managing GovDelivery subscriber lists Coordinating and attending department outreach events Coordinating all department public data requests Performs intermediate-level professional work organizing public relations activities and developing promotional and educational materials. Researches, writes, and edits news releases, newsletters and internal communications. Prepares or edits speeches and scripts for presentation at public meetings for the media. Plans and arranges displays, exhibits, tours, lectures, films, and other public events to promote goodwill and inform the community. Prepares and assembles audio-visual materials to support public relations efforts. Maintains departmental website including creating content and updating the internal and external website.
