　　The Small Engine Technician performs maintenance and repair of all small gas powered equipment including chain saws, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, quickie saws, mowers, generators, etc. Responsible for maintaining equipment inventory and equipment maintenance records. The selected candidate is required to provide basic hand tools typical of a technician with five years experience in the automotive or equipment repair industry.

　　Examples of Duties

　　: - Performs extensive preventive maintenance and repairs on all makes and models of small equipment - Diagnoses and repairs as well as replacing wear parts. - Maintains records of time and material used on the job, documents equipment condition and status, updates any changes and submits log as required, informs supervisor of materials needed to perform a job. - Responsible for maintenance and repair of small engines, both gas and diesel, including hydraulic equipment. - Responsible for sharpening or replacing mower blades, chainsaw chains and other wear related items. All types of landscape maintenance equipment. - Maintains inventory records on repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory. - May be required to work special events that happen outside of the normal work schedule. - Performs other duties as required.

　　Typical Qualifications

　　: Must be able to follow equipment repair schematics and diagrams, as well as adhere to all occupational health and safety rules and regulations. Must be skilled/developing in the troubleshooting and repair of associated equipment, and have the ability to safely and efficiently use a variety of tools and motor vehicles.

　　Education and Experience

　　: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must hold a valid Texas drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Must have basic knowledge of personal computers. Prefer some ASE certifications. Must obtain a class B CDL license within six months.Must have at least one year of experience in a garage environment.
