Job Requirements:
We are seeking a Lead, Accounting to focus on Program Accounting at the Greenville Division within the Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance Sector. This role will provide leadership and guidance for complex accounting topics, be responsible for program related balances, EAC compliance and inputs to the month end and quarter end accounting close processes, provide ownership of specific SOX controls and drive for on-time and accurate audit support. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, analytical, and U.S. GAAP skills in order to support and maintain relationships with business stakeholders.
This position is located in Greenville, Rockwall, Waco, or Plano, TX and requires onsite availability with periodic travel to other sites and regular opportunities to work remote. You will need to live within commuting distance to one of these sites.
Essential Functions:
Individual contributor role which provides leadership to a cross functional team of professional accountants and other finance analysts who provide accounting and financial reporting services working both on site and fully remote
Partner with business representatives to advise on US GAAP and Corporate/Local Policies requirements for accounting impacts of business decisions
Ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies
Perform revenue recognition analysis, attend program reviews, ensure program set up is accurate and consistent with revenue determinations
Coordinate work during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to ensure deadlines are achieved
Review and assess quality of monthly close inputs and schedules, including assessments of accruals, adequacy of reserves, quarterly and annual schedules, and financial analytics
Monitor and interpret program results, inventory and unbilled balances, consult on and review monthly accruals, and analyze actual results for reporting
Serve as reviewer for accounting outputs to ensure accuracy of results and to document internal control effectiveness
Proactively identify and implement process improvements
Assist with prioritization of work and/or re-distribution when competing deadlines arise
Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects, as requested
Support Audits (DCAA, External Audit, Internal Audit, SOX, and Self Evaluation Testing)
Ability interact with business stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and minimum 9 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. In lieu or a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
3+ years experience with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
3+ years of experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-paced close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines
1+ years of experience with facilitating internal and external audits
U.S. Citizenship
