Position Summary
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Metropolitan State University ofDenver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate facultyteaching positions. Qualified applicants will be considered for departmentalteaching needs for both in-person or online courses.

Responsibilities
An affiliate faculty member's duties include but are not limited to:teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content tostudents, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading studentwork, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner,addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school,and department policies, and providing online or in person academic supportto students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providinginstruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learningobjectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, withdepartment course coordination policies; and complying with university-widestudent evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.Applicants may be asked to teach in-person, online, or in hybridcapacities dependent upon course needs. The ability to adapt and learn newmodes of instruction is highly encouraged. Candidates need to be sensitive tothe educational needs of a diverse student population.
Required Qualifications
Masters in psychology, a related field, or a doctoral program in psychology
Preferred QualificationsA doctoral candidate in psychology; a dissertation complete/defensepending in appropriate field of psychology, or a Ph.D. in psychologyTeaching experience, and demonstrated success, in undergraduate psychologycourse areas, including clinical/counseling, developmental/familystudies, cognitive/biological/experimental, and social
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a percredit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semesterbasis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under theUniversity's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent onbudget and enrollment.
Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hiredepending upon course.
Salary for Announcement
The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a ratedetermined by university policy.
