Ford Motor Company's Electric Vehicle Engineering team is in the exciting and rapidly-advancing area of vehicle electrification. Our Electric Vehicle (EV) Energy Management Systems (EVEMS) organization is growing and is in search of outstanding individuals to help shape the direction of our next generation electric powertrains. Successful applicants will work closely with various electrification departments to lead the development of vehicle products, architectures, and requirements for forthcoming products while assessing cutting edge technologies to support deployment of a best-in-industry electrified vehicle product portfolio.

In this position...
Lead definition, development, sizing, requirements of next generation electric powertrain systems for truck and commercial vehicles
Lead power-pack sizing and trade-off studies for optimal attribute/cost balance
Lead definition of powertrain architecture and cascade system targets to meet vehicle attributes
Work closely with battery, motor, inverter, gearbox, brake, controls & calibration, team leaders / technical experts to reduce component losses and optimize designs to improve efficiency and maximize vehicle range
Lead / support GPDS milestone reviews of the system definition, requirements, and capability (assessment against the requirements)
You'll have...
M.S. in Engineering or related field Prior electrification experience ≥ 2 years experience with Automotive Engineering concepts and processes ≥ 2 years demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams and driving product development issues to resolution ≥ 2 years experience communicating technical information concisely in executive reviews

≥ 2 years of experience in systems engineering role Understanding of EV powertrain system functionality and attributes and at subsystem and vehicle levels Knowledge of working globally across cultural and organizational borders to achieve one goal and meet targets highly preferred Passion for the development and advancement of hybrid and electrified vehicle technology Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, eager to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision Knowledge of advanced and forward model development process Knowledge of powertrain controls and calibration Knowledge of powertrain testing tools, analytical and CAE tools and performance modeling Knowledge of program planning, program management, powertrain component, or systems design Excellent written & verbal communication skills - ability to organize multiple inputs into succinct summary and manageable discussion Knowledge of project life cycle management from R&D to Production
