About Project Safety Manager

  Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Project Safety Manager tojoin our team in our Mountain West Region. The Project Safety Manager assiststhe Regional Safety Manager and Safety Director and provides leadership andtechnical direction to project operations and direct reports regarding issuesof safety and health, by evaluating the effectiveness of the safety programand making recommendations for improving safety performance when and wherenecessary to ensure that a culture of safe production is effectivelysustained.

  Responsibilities:

  Work with field supervision to assess and document work practices to ensurethat Kraemer policies and procedures are supported by management and practicedby employees. Follow up and assist with corrective action processes to ensurethat hazards are effectively eliminated and/or controlled in support of ourSafe Production culture.Coordinate and conduct Kraemer and Owner New Hire Orientation Programs andother safety-related training as needed in accordance with Kraemer policiesand procedures.Mentor and develop project staffProvide safety leadership and act as the project's representative in allareas of occupational safety & health and assist project management in WorkActivity Planning and the effective implementation of Kraemer's Safety andHealth Programs.Support the Site-Specific Safety Plan for the project.Under the direction of the Regional Safety Manager, assist in thedevelopment or improvement of company policies, programs, and trainingmaterials.Ensure a proactive approach to safety by communicating safety-related issuesthrough monthly and weekly safety updates, memos, and staff meetings.Administer and ensure compliance with Kraemer Safety and EnvironmentalPrograms.Investigate serious incidents of loss in conjunction with management/staffto determine root causes and necessary corrective action to preventreoccurrence in accordance with Kraemer's Incident Analysis and ReportingProgram.Assist project managers in applying industrial hygiene procedures,techniques, and documentation of work practices to protect employees'health and safety.Assist at the project level in the leadership and management of the SafeProduction culture.Lead the facilitation, and effective implementation of the TEAM andsupervisor site inspection programs.Assist Kraemer personnel with safety-related issues.Integrate and facilitate behavioral-based safety practices whenever andwherever possible.Assist the Regional Safety Manager in advising management of developments infederal and state safety regulations and notify management of the potentialimpact to the region's operations.Analyze incidents of loss and statistical information and review current riskmanagement and safety and health policies/programs to provide managementwith recommendations for improved performance.Work with Risk Analyst, Safety Director, Regional Safety Manager, andProject Manager(s) to facilitate Kraemer Incident Analysis andReporting, Medical Case Management, and Crisis Management programs.Implement document control procedures with safety correspondence andmaterials.Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in safety or related field experience with extensivecoursework is preferred.Experience and expertise in risk management and loss control, constructionmanagement, industrial hygiene, and behavioral-based safety is required.A professional safety certification - Associated Safety Professional(ASP), Construction Safety & Health Technician (CSHT), orCertified Safety Professional CSP) is preferred.Experience in the area of operations (i.e., heavy civil or bridgeconstruction and where applicable, materials manufacturing)Sound knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and FRA Regulations.Computer literate: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.Benefits:
