  Are you interested in joining the largest employee-owned company in the United States? Are you detail oriented with knowledge of construction drawings, codes, laws, regulations, and ordinances relating to design? We are seeking a Project Manager of Architectural Design!

  As a Project Manager you will serve as the primary contact and a liaison between Publix, the Shopping Center Developer, and their consulting architect and engineers throughout the design phase of project development. This includes coordinating internal project-related activities and assisting the Construction Manager. This position reports to the New Store Program Manager.

  Responsibilities include:

  communicating Publix site development requirements and ongoing status reports to the Shopping Center Developer, his/her team and Publix internal resources

  coordinating the Publix project document production

  managing review and retention of all shopping center project documents, including Civil Plans, Architectural Plans, Structural Plans, Photometric Studies, the Geotechnical Report, the Environmental Report, and Fire Flow

  coordinating the shopping center permitting process

  providing project support during construction

  assisting in store design including prototypes, dot versions (major revision, or a batch of revisions), and unique site-specific stores

  training and self-study of construction procedures, materials, and methods

  participating in post-construction walkthroughs of new stores

  documenting and following up on design-related issues

  coordinating and communicating project timelines across our Real Estate and Construction departments

  70,785 - 107,640

  Year End Bonus:

  As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

  Required Qualifications:

  High School diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years drafting instruction at the post High School (HS) level

  at least four (4) years drafting experience

  at least one (1) year project management experience (construction, building design)

  at least two (2) years cross-disciplinary experience (architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural)

  at least five (5) years architectural design experience

  knowledge of building technology

  knowledgeable of good drafting and design techniques

  knowledge of CADD (Computer Automated Drafting Design)

  knowledge of Windows operating environment and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

  knowledge of construction drawings and codes, laws, regulations and ordinances related to design

  time management, personnel management, and material management skills

  technical skills

  reasoning skills, to make recommendations regarding project scope and design and schedule and coordinate activities

  ability to visualize three dimensionally

  ability to multi-task

  willingness to adjust schedule and/or travel if required

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in a design discipline

  six (6) or more years of drafting & design experience to include at least one (1) year with Publix

  three (3) or more years of project management experience

  four (4) of more years of cross-disciplinary experience

  in-depth knowledge of the Publix Site Development Process

  knowledge of Publix drafting standards

  knowledge of the Publix organizational structure
