About Project Engineer – Design (T-line / Electrical)

As a Project Engineer - Design in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

  As a Project Engineer - Design, a typical day might include the following:

  Creating protection & control design packages for transmission & distribution utilities, generation facilities, and industrial clients

  Creating design packages including one-lines, three-lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, bill of material, SCADA points lists

  Performing site visits and scoping protection & control retrofit designs.

  Applying customer-specific protection & control templates for greenfield and brownfield designs

  Demonstrating ownership of each component of the design process, and delivery of the overall package

  Demonstrating understanding of zones of protection, instrument transformers, and protective relaying schemes

  This job might be for you if:

  You have a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.

  You have the ability to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilities.

  You are willing to travel as needed.

  You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

  You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

  You have experience in using substation design software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor, SDS – Substation Design Suite Physical, WinIGS, CDEGS, or similar.

  You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

  Career Levels:

  Project Engineer II

  4+ years of experience with electrical power systems with a focus in substation design

  Project Engineer III

  8+ years of experience with electrical power systems with a focus in substation design

  Sr Project Engineer

  12+ years of experience with electrical power systems with a focus in substation design

  Pay Range:

  We anticipate filling this position as a Project Engineer - Design:

  Project Engineer II - Design: $87,000.00 - $136,000.00.

  Project Engineer III - Design: $100,000.00 - $157,000.00

  Senior Project Engineer - Design: $111,000.00 - $184,000.00

  We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
