DescriptionSTATLER COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND MINERAL RESOURCESThe Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University invites applications for one non-tenure-track position of Research Assistant Professor in the general area of energy conversion. The specific subjects of interest include (1) thermoelectric oxide materials and all oxide thermoelectric generators; (2) high-temperature solid oxide cells for electricity generation and hydrogen production; (3) chemistry and nanostructure design and engineering of various metals and ceramics.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: (1) significantly contribute to research programs by conducting high-quality research experiments and contributing and further leading various aspects of research projects and proposal development and leading to author peer-reviewed journal publications and developing the intellectual properties; (2) assisting the principal investigators in overseeing the lab activities, leading and managing the lab personnel; (3) and mentoring students for participation in research or thesis/dissertation work towards degree completion.West Virginia University is the comprehensive Land Grant University of the State of West Virginia with a main campus enrollment of over 24,000 students, and a Carnegie Classification of Highest Research Activity (R1 University).
