You will be immersed with avariety of Capital & Expense funded projects which involve meaningfulwork, project management, and decision making from the moment you walkinto the Mill. Each semester will be a unique challenge due to milloutage timeframes, department shutdowns, and independent projectschedules. You will learn the project management process listed below:Project Initiation: define problem, scope, constraints, etc. ProjectPlanning: detail costs and schedule, submit for approval ProjectExecution: manage material & labor contracts, oversee that constructionmeets project planning and is performed safely Project Closure: monitorand document project details Skills learned or improved are as follows:planning/estimating, introduction to engineering design, contractorfield oversight, AutoCAD design, PCA specific programs forequipment/operational details, Microsoft Office, working withmulti-discipline teams, etc. Your daily interactions with PCA personnelin Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations will sharpen yourcommunication skills and strengthen your leadership qualities.
