Primary ResponsibilitiesEstimating Duties: Perform quantity take off via on-screen software inconjunction with Tekla Fabsuite. Organize, enter, and prepare estimatereports within Fabsuite or excel as applicable, review for accuracy andcompleteness and input sub/supplier pricing. Setup bid folders for newestimates and download all necessary drawings, specifications, and otherdocuments to ensure bid quality. Prepare accurate, organized, andconcise scope directives and request for quotes for subcontractors andsuppliers to compile accurate pricing prior to bid submittal. Prepareand submit bid RFI\'s as needed Develop, nurture, and maintain positivesub/supplier relationships through consistent communication, networkingevents and scope meetings. Assist sales team during scope reviewmeetings and promote Zalk Josephs in a positive ethical manner.Collaborate with sales and engineering to discuss value add ideas toimprove Zalk Josephs competitive edge. Performs additional estimatingrelated projects and completes all other duties as assigned ProjectEngineer Duties: Create and maintain up to date pdf drawing sets andrevision log of contract documents to ensure team members have the mostupdated construction set drawings and specifications. Draft RFI\'s andrequest & review submittals, submit to client (GC/Architect/Engineer)for approval, distribute responses to all involved parties and maintainstatus report of approved or pending items, follow-up as needed onoverdue or urgent items. Manage project records; (i.e. Drawings, RFIsubmittals and subcontractor purchase orders) Draft and enter purchaseorders for subcontracts/contractors for approval by Project Manager.Through consistent communication with vendors and subcontractors, ensureall purchase orders and subcontracts are returned and signed in a timelymanner. On a project-by-project basis, gather appropriate insurancecertificates for all subcontractors. Review and cost code invoices andsubmit to PM for final approval. Coordinate and work with fieldpersonnel and sub/suppliers to ensure information regarding the projectis communicated and understood.
