SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator III, under general supervision, supervises, coordinates, and assists with the completion of projects. Develops and coordinates project plans through full implementation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that IT projects meet all the requirements for Texas Administrative Code for IT Projects and ensures that major information resources projects are reported in accordance with regulations.
Maintains accurate documentation for IT projects in accordance with audit requirements.
Establishes goals for project delivery including determining project needs. Writes reports and other related materials.
Manages project quality control and assurance.
Manages the project scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, vendors, and contractual deliverables
Assists in the development, design, purchase and installation and implementation of new services.
Develops and assess projects. Coordinates project activities including project initiation, value assessments, work plan development, estimating, and project controls. Recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
Applies best practices in vendor selection, contract negotiation and project lifecycle.
Coordinates with vendors and others in the delivery and support for systems and services.
Coordinates multiple work streams to ensure cross-project dependencies and impacts are identified and managed. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed.
Prepares forecasting and progress reporting against milestones, budgetary updates, and the change management process.
Prepares and oversees the preparation of training and operational manuals.
May supervise staff and students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of related experience in project coordination/administration.
Knowledge / Skills: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard proofreading.
Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
