　　Project Controller

　　Position Summary

　　The Project Controller (PC) supports development of scope, schedule, and costs for engineering projects in accordance with the requirements of our client’s request for proposal. The PC will fulfill all project controls tasks such as cost management, planning and scheduling, project accounting, change management and reporting. This role will establish and maintain the project control baselines used to manage the project, control change, and evaluate performance, working alongside other project functional groups to monitor progress, identify trends and changes, and evaluate performance, to support project decisions. The PC will generate cost reports including control budget, expenditure, and forecasts. The PC will develop and maintain project schedules. The PC will also analyze project performance through Earned Value Management (EVM) and prepare detailed forecast of remaining work. The PC will administer project procedures and work instructions, and routine reporting (weekly and monthly).

　　The PC will be part of the High Pressure Metallurgy (HPM) business practice. HPM executes a wide range of engineering studies and projects with specialized knowledge of high temperature, high pressure metal recovery of complex ores. An autoclave vessel is the key equipment required for the metals recovery processes for many large-scale sulfidic refractory ore bodies. These recovery processes are commonly known as pressure oxidation, pressure leaching or pressure oxidative leach processes. Hatch enables mining companies to select the best process options based on the size and complexity of the ore bodies by offering custom engineering services to determine the most effective extraction methods and the associated plant infrastructure and operational plans. The HPM team is comprised of a multi-discipline engineers, designers, and technologists with specialized expertise in process, mechanical, plant layout and piping disciplines.

　　Responsibilities

　　Supports HPM Business Practice and Project Managers

　　§ Set up project cost breakdown structure and conduct cost management.

　　§ Develop and maintain project schedule.

　　§ Conduct earned value management.

　　§ Develops project specific plans, procedures, and work instructions.

　　§ Supports cross-functional engineering teams to establish and meet project goals and objectives.

　　§ Communicates project status through various reports and meetings to engineering leads, project management and the clients.

　　§ Administers project invoices.

　　§ Coordinates and administers trend and change management documentation.

　　§ Assists with the development of engineering service proposals.

　　Qualifications

　　§ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

　　§ 5-10 years of project controls experience with detailed knowledge in planning and scheduling, cost management and earned value management.

　　§ Hands-on experience in Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Project to develop and maintain schedules of various levels.

　　§ Experience in multi-discipline EPCM project environments.

　　§ Strong computer skills (particularly MS Office suite) and relevant project controls specific software skills, with an emphasis on Excel for data management, analysis, and presentation.

　　§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to write effective, high quality technical, evidence-based documents and to convey project information to various stakeholders.
