ESPN's Content Scheduling & Strategy team is looking to bring a new Programming Coordinator to the team! This person supports the team on the day-to-day scheduling of live event content on ESPN+ and ESPN3 with an emphasis on college sports; as well as schedules all Digital Social content on @ESPN. They will contribute to the strategic planning of all event-based content within ESPN’s digital platforms to increase viewership and revenue and work collaboratively across all ESPN departments and with external rights holders to fulfill contracts and achieve established company/team priorities and goals.
This person will serve as an integral member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall content and scheduling strategy for the company across all products and platforms and proactively give innovative ideas to continue to grow our business.
Responsibilities:
Work with conference and school partners to schedule collegiate sports content on the event-based networks (ESPN+, ESPN3); maintaining those schedules during the academic year and find efficiencies in the process.
Work with internal programming partners and external rights holders to develop strategic programming schedule plans and ensure accuracy (day, date, time, title, description) of assigned category schedules.
Handle all Content Scheduler related tasks for assigned sports properties, including viewership and engagement metrics, scheduling, metadata, and more
Schedule Digital Social content on the unauthenticated @ESPN platform
Manage documents that track our rights and responsibilities within digital programming, and communicate those details to the appropriate groups within the company. (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Production)
Maintain quality control of all programming metadata that drives the curation of content within the ESPN app and work with Product and Technology teams on the impact of ESPN app updates to program scheduling.
Manage and/or acquire other miscellaneous sport properties which will allow for deeper acquisitions and external rights holder interaction.
Qualifications:
Strong overall sports knowledge and general knowledge of the sports media industry.
Proficient digital literacy, emphasis on Microsoft Office suite and current social media platforms.
Someone with great communication skills who is a highly organized and efficient person!
Preferred Qualifications:
One years of experience in the sports media industry, television programming and/or professional or college sports.
General familiarity with: reading and comprehending legal contracts; media and footage rights; and TV and digital audience measurement
Curiosity about the digital media landscape. (e.g., social, GIFs, OTT, DTC, etc.)
Knowledge of NCS or Content Scheduler systems a plus.
Required Education :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, business, sports management or a related field.#ESPNMEDIA
