  Position Summary

  Working in the Division of General Medicine under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Program Manager will provide management for multiple ongoing NIH-sponsored research studies as well as leadership and administrative direction, in collaboration with section leadership and divisional administration. This includes supporting staff management, oversight of grant and non-grant financial accounts, moving forward strategic initiatives and management of the day-to-day operations.

  Responsibilities

  Supervise team of up to 10 clinical research coordinators (CRCs)Coordinate training of all clinical research coordinators in standardized procedures, research techniques and methodologies

  Supervise and assist with development of training and educational material for assigned research protocols

  Collaborate with Grant Management team for budgeting, account reconciliation, and funds allocation

  Serve as a liaison with the management team of the Division of General Medicine for procurement of supplies, maintenance of petty cash accounts help by coordinators, and any other administrative task that lies between the management team of the division and the Principal Investigator

  Responsible for preparation of documents for renewals, modifications, yearly submissions, correspondence, and audits related to IRB for multiple ongoing NIH-sponsored research studies

  Ensure that regulatory compliance is met and that regulatory files are audit-readyManage program's specimen repository at Brooks Life Sciences, including processing, transfer and retrieval of samples

  Coordinate contracts with external vendors and monitoring deliverables and invoice processing

  Manage and supervise the logistics related to collaborators and facilities outside of Columbia University Irving Medical Center, including the data-coordinating center at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale

  Manage FDA's IND applications and approved protocols

  Manage and supervise the logistics of research procedures conducted at core facilities including the Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the Irving Institute for Clinical Translational Research, the research MRI unit at the New York Psychiatric Institute, and the Center for Advanced Laboratory Medicine (CALM lab) in the Department of Pathology

  Assist Principal Investigator with the logistics of group meetings and set-up of new projects

  Serve as a backup for PET/MRI scheduling and completion, as well as neuropsychological test administration and other study procedures

  Perform additional related duties as assigned/needed

  Minimum Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years related experience

  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  Ability to exercise initiative and judgment

  Team player with ability to thrive in busy office environment

  Ability to think and write clearly and to edit materials accuratelyAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks while maintaining responsibility for timely execution

  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master's degree in administration, public health, health education, or a related fieldFluency in Spanish highly desirableExperience in neuropsychological testing and logistics of brain imaging proceduresOther Requirements

  Participation in the medical surveillance programContact with patients and/or human research subjectsPotential bloodborne pathogen exposureSuccessful completion of applicable systems training requirements
