Summary:
Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. (CED), one of the largest and fastest growing wholesale electrical distribution companies in the country, has an opening in our Irving, Texas, office for a part-time (20-hours per week) entry-level Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will report within the Legal Department and Personnel Assessment Department and will provide administrative and project-specific support to team members within all departments that report to CED’s General Counsel.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Must possess basic bookkeeping skills
Must have outstanding verbal and written language and numeric skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and present information in a readily understandable format.
Must be competent with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Must have good references, pass pre-employment drug test, successfully complete a background check, as well as be willing to participate in pre-employment assessments.
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:
Must have a strong work ethic and be able to effectively manage many time-sensitive, daily tasks while simultaneously accomplishing long-term projects in a timely manner.
Must display a high level of ethics and professionalism, the ability to forge positive working relationships both inside and outside the organization, and be able to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
Must be service-oriented, as all Legal and Personnel Assessment Department staff support Field management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with a strong academic record, or comparable work experience
Notary Public (or willing and eligible to become one)
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment.
The administrative assistant routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is largely a sedentary role. However, filing duties require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Essential Job Functions:
In conjunction with other Legal and Personnel Assessment staff, cover all Administrative Assistant duties including, but not limited to the following:
Coordinate and manage the candidate assessment system, including uploading information, troubleshooting assessment issues, managing computer systems, and communicating with both internal hiring managers and external third-party vendors.
Serve as front-line matter intake professional, with the mandate to either handle matters quickly or route them to the appropriate person for prompt handling.
Handle the initial intake for CED’s employee hotline, gathering information from complainants, summarizing the complaint in written form, and forwarding the information to the appropriate person/people.
Assist with corporate legal activities, such as filing with state and local governments, maintaining corporate minute books, and responding to record requests and subpoenas.
Provide all administrative support, such as file organization (both physical and electronic), internal and external invoicing and bill payment processing, mail and package deliveries, and internal announcements.
Assist with all other duties assigned, including any duties related to departments reporting to the General Counsel.
