  The Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD), part of the School of Engineering (SoE) is seeking a highly motivated and team focused individual to join our Programs team, as a Program Manager. In this fast-paced environment, the successful candidate should have the ability to manage multiple projects and programs, possess a strong attention to detail, thrive in a deadline driven environment, and possess exceptional communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to effectively and inclusively interact with people across cultures.

  The Program Manager will be supporting online courses within the Computer Science andArtificial Intelligence Professional Programsportfolio. The Program Manager will work closely with experienced SCPD Program Managers, interface with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and support a global community of learners enrolled in cohort-based courses. The Program Manager will interact with Stanford departments, faculty, administrative staff, subject matter experts, and learners, often operating under strict deadlines. Due to the learner facing nature of this role, a successful candidate will have a strong customer orientation, excellent verbal and oral communication abilities, as well as time management skills. During the first 1-2 weeks of each new cohort, this position might require work on some evenings and weekends.

  Your responsibilities include:

  ● Understand and communicate the features, benefits, and advantages of the course/program to a target audience.

  ● Execute various learner-facing and program development tasks to meet the program objective.

  ● Gather, analyze and report on course/program data.

  ● Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of program elements.

  ● Provide administrative support to the Program team.

  ● Track course/program progress against goals and schedule.

  ● Assist in the development of materials which support the program.

  Additional duties:

  ● Launch and manage course cohorts on an operational level (approximately 120 learners each, with multiple cohorts running simultaneously).

  ● Support learners in the program and respond to their inquiries (emails, Slack, etc.).

  ● Supervise course facilitators to ensure that course assignments submitted by learners are evaluated in a timely manner and that learner questions are answered.

  ● Actively participate in efforts to improve processes, programs and business across the department.

  Education & Experience (Required):

  ● Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required):

  ● Strong verbal and oral communication skills.

  ● Highly organized.

  ● Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  ● Ability to meet expected deadlines and schedules.

  ● Team player.

  Education & Experience (Desired):

  ● Previous experience in a customer-facing role.

  ● Prior experience with Slack, Microsoft Office, Google Workspaces (experience with GitHub is a bonus), or similar applications.

  ● Comfortable learning and using new software applications.

  ● While not required, experience with efforts to improve internal processes is highly desired.

  Working Conditions:

  ● Occasional work on evenings and weekends.

  Physical Requirements*:

  ● Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  ● Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.

  ● Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.

  ● Rarely sort/file paperwork.

  Pay Range:

  The expected pay range for this position is $36.54 to $49.04 per hour.

  Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
