Established in 2017, the Salish Sea Institute works on and off campus to promote teaching about the Salish Sea and shares science and management solutions to restore the health of the Salish Sea.
About the Position
The Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the institute, in compliance with university systems and policies, and is a primary contact for affiliated staff, students, and faculty from across the university. The work of this position also interfaces with members of the Institute's advisory board and members of the public. The position is 12-month, 0.50 FTE and reports to the Director of the Salish Sea Institute. The position is located on campus with the flexibility to work remotely, contingent upon departmental needs and university policy.
Typical duties include:
Completing and tracking forms for personnel, curriculum and catalog updates, travel, contracts, requests for services, budget reporting.
Maintaining public-facing communications for the Institute, including managing & updating websites, and serving as primary point of contact for university and public inquiries.
Planning logistical details for Institute events including Advisory Board meetings, workshops and webinars.
Overseeing details such as parking reservations, meal planning, attendee correspondence and meeting room reservations.
Reconciling and tracking purchases and expenses using Banner, Millennium Fast Finance, and Excel.
Initiating and approving department Journal Vouchers.
Managing department travel information in Concur system.
Tracking payments and budgets for affiliated faculty and fellows.
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent
Two years of program administration experience
Experience managing websites and creating newsletters
Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education administration and/or programming
Experience with relevant financial and administrative systems, including Banner, Millennium Fast Finance, SAP Concur, or equivalent systems
Experience with external communication tools (e.g. Constant Contact, MailChimp) including social media platforms
Knowledge of the Salish Sea ecosystem, management structure and history
Experience improving accessibility of communication and outreach tools

Salary
This position is for 50% appointment. Salary is $1,845 - $2,469/month at 50% appointment depending on qualifications and experience.
