We are looking for a talented Product Validation Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Corporate Business in Columbus, IN and/or your remote home office.
In this product focused early career position, you will prepare products for market through simulation, physical testing, and problem resolution to ensure alignment with overall systems requirements, applicable across all of Cummins Products.
As a Product Validation Engineer, you will:
be a critical part of the full product development cycle.
work to prevent, find and fix issues before production, ensuring value for the end user customer and delivering on our brand promise of dependability.
Use a combination of simulation and testing to define a complete plan.
Apply engineering principles to real-world problems.
Actively engage not just in problem solving but also failure mode avoidance
Leverage data to drive further optimization of the design and performance.
You will make an impact by:
Keeping problems out of the hands of customers
Working to define the combination of analytical and experimental tasks needed to verify the product is functioning as intended in all use cases.
Using engineering fundamentals to understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action and owning documented problem resolutions.
Bridging across analysis and testing resources for the completion of verification tasks
Demonstrating effective use of appropriate industry and Cummins specific tools and software
Considering system requirements and demonstrate a system thinking approach in your work.
Collaborating and communicating effectively (both verbal and written) with key stakeholders and colleagues
To be successful in this role you will need:
A College, University or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field
Effective communication skills along with strengths in logic, planning and decision making.
Experience using Microsoft Office tools or equivalents, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Prior hands-on product experience is preferred, but not required.
A postgraduate (Master’s or PhD) degree is typically NOT required for Product Validation Engineer roles.

Degree Programs Considered: Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD
Major Programs Typically Considered: All Engineering Majors
Cummins Full Time Requirements:
College, university or equivalent technical experience required
Minimum 2.5 or above GPA required
Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
0-2 years in a position/internship relating to your field of study preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
