About Procurement Specialist (Maternity Cover Fixed Term), Site Procurement Operations

  Description

  Amazon is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Specialist to provide procurement solutions to operation locations.

  Key job responsibilities

  • Providing Procurement support to cross-functional teams at many existing sites. Managing the relationship with our internal customers

  • Supporting local Procurement activities related to new site launches

  • Identifying and managing a local supply base and managing supplier relationships

  • Working with the stakeholders to enforce and monitor Procurement policy compliance. Engagement with the wider EU Procurement Operation team to make improvements and alignment

  • Leading, executing and supporting local and EU Procurement activities throughout project lifecycle

  • Identifying savings opportunities and partnering with Category Managers to deliver savings through tenders, negotiations and contract renewals

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels to manage expectations and push back where appropriate

  • Be autonomous and take ownership of tasks and ability to make decisions

  • Support to negotiations, contracts implementation and maintenance, incl. supplier performance metrics

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Alessandria, AL, ITA | Arzano, NA, ITA | Milan, MI, ITA | Rome, ITA

  Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in Procurement

  • Experience in Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Proficiency in using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle and/or COUPA)

  • English and Italian language skills

  Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPS qualifications or similar

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of dealing with both internal and external customers/suppliers at all levels
