About Process Mechanical Engineer

  Work directly with production, Leadership and Engineering in all aspects of continuous improvement and manufacturing process development. To provide technical support on all shifts of operation. Investigate, justify, select, implement, and/or debug production equipment and processes. Perform complex installation, repair, inspection and maintenance tasks on production machines and equipment such as furnaces and conveyor systems.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Sample parts in accordance with established procedures and instructions. Perform all required tests as required. Assist with stop/start quality checks on appropriate transfer lines.

  Analyze parts and test data to form judgment on materials, processes and part characteristics to ensure conformance to all established quality requirements.

  Assist Production Leadership in developing corrective actions and implementing process improvements to eliminate non-conformance.

  Conduct investigative work to solve technical issues.

  Provide guidance and assistance to quality technicians and internal audit team members at various plant locations.

  Assist with training of operators in production and process requirements.

  Maintain a clean, orderly work area.

  Assures that predicted improvements are implemented, measured, driven to closure and crossed to operating results.

  Requires a high degree of Continuous Improvement knowledge and is required to stay abreast of the latest external developments in Continuous Improvement best practices.

  Required to follow all HSE rules and regulations. Must wear appropriate PPE as required.

  Ability to work effectively in a team environment – to effectively listen, facilitate, challenge, communicate and motivate multifunctional teams and employees at all levels of the organization.

  Must be a proven leader within a relevant discipline and a quick learner who is adaptive to and embraces change.

  Drives for operational excellence and business results and interacts effectively at all levels of the organization to “get things done.”

  Analyze and diagnose complex machine malfunctions to expedite and coordinate corrective actions to prevent excessive downtime and interrupted schedules.

  Dismantle and inspect, rebuild and overhaul complete machines and components.

  Perform rigging for all types of equipment in safe manner.

  Complete detailed quotes and repair lead times for recommended repairs.

  Work with and oversee outside vendors.

  Instruct and guide employees in lower skill classifications in a variety of maintenance assignments.

  Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts. Document precise measurements required remanufacturing components.

  Excellent organization and planning skills as well as the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  Energetic, disciplined, focused and have the ability to see beyond temporary set -backs.

  Fosters open communication, values learning and is able to build employee effectiveness.

  Coordinate the installation, start up, and debugging of production equipment.

  Organize and schedule projects in coordination with Plant Management as assigned.

  Develop and implement cost reductions in conjunction with Plant Manager.

  Implement cost reductions and productivity improvements.

  Provide assistance on shop floor.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  2+ years of experience in manufacturing related required.

  Ability to read and interpret part drawings (POS & customer blueprints).

  Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments including, but not limited to, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, calipers, and comparator.

  Knowledge of PC programs and CAD desired.

  Must be fluent in English.

  Must be able to work and travel independently.

  The ability to lift at least 50 lbs. occasionally.
