Description:  Perform standard operations to inspect a variety of parts and materials for prescribed chemical treating and paint processes.

　　Typical Responsibilities

　　 Be trained to follow standard inspection procedures, specifications, drawings, written or oral instructions and general methods to check all parts and materials for adherence to specifications process requirements.

　　 Be trained to inspect items after completion of shot peening, spot welding, chemical etching, photo etching, anodizing, alodining, plating, painting, aging, sand blasting and other processing operations and enter data into the Quality Automated Inspection Sampling (AIS) system, as required.

　　 Be trained to identify material and check for completion of processes, noting any deviations.

　　 Be trained to check and record times and temperatures of furnaces, ovens and chemical baths.

　　 Take samples and maintain test data and other inspection records.

　　 Be trained to perform standard dimensional checks and Aluminum hardness tests, inspect parts and assemblies for coverage, thickness, and finish, and perform other inspection operations necessary to check surface treatments, welds, or other processes affecting strength or surfaces of materials.

　　 Be trained to perform routine Aluminum heat treat inspection operations and other related duties as directed.

　　 Refer all unusual conditions to working leader or supervisor.

　　 Be trained for the review and disposition of all nonconforming material using the electronic NMRR database.

　　 Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures.

　　 As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　Education: Requires knowledge of decimals and fractions and the ability to use various measuring instruments and perform basic dimensional inspection checks.

　　Requires short, specialized training in quality control processing methods and procedures, or the equivalent.

　　Previous Experience with Paint: 3 months to 1 year

　　Physical Demand Overall light physical effort required to check and inspect processing of various parts and maintain records. Work regularly with light to average weight items.

　　Mental & Visual Demand Continuous mental and visual attention required to inspect various processes, check out specifications and handle necessary paper work.

　　Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

　　Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
