  Description

  The goal of Amazon Logistics is to build a world class last mile operation. Amazon Logistics aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible.

  The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) team is looking for a Process Engineer to join Japan Engineering team. On this role, the Process Engineer will support the standardization and optimization of our Last Mile delivery network to meet safety, customer experience, productivity, quality, and cost goals.

  This role involves continuous communication with local functional business owners and technical Engineering teams at both the European and World-Wide level.

  This role will be based in Tokyo and involves domestic travel.

  Key job responsibilities

  Contribute to network culture of standardization using best practice sharing with European (EU) and Worldwide (WW) counterparts, and incorporate into most up to date design practices

  Responsible for implementation of new equipment designs, process improvements, safety processes, etc. into standard designs

  Develop and improve Amazon Logistics equipment and processes to enhance safety, associate/driver experience, capacity, speed, quality, and cost goals

  Provide process expertise on industrial design including material flow, equipment, packaging profiles and site layout components

  Tokyo, JPN

  Basic Qualifications

  Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience

  5+ years experience in a similar engineering role (Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality)

  Experience processes and/or equipment

  Business level Japanese

  Business level English (communication with manager and team members)

  Preferred Qualifications

  Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operational excellence tools

  Project Management skills

  Knowledge and ability to use standard design and development tools e.g. AutoCAD, MS Visio

  Data analysis skills using supporting tools e.g. MS Excel. Minitab, SQL , JMP, MS Access

  Experience working in a logistics or production/manufacturing environment

  Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
