Process Control Technician - Sand Lab (Weekdays, Nights)

　　Work Mode: Onsite

　　Location: Onsite at Kohler, WI

　　Schedule: Third Shift (Sun/Mon/Tues/Weds/Thurs: 7pm - 5am CST)

　　Opportunity

　　Responsible for providing technical support in sand and process related functions for the Cast Iron Division manufacturing processes.

　　Specific Responsibilities

　　Obtain samples of molding sand and new sand from Kohler’s CID Foundry molding lines.

　　Perform tests on sand samples.This will include moisture testing, MB testing, green strength, compatibility, wet tensile, permeability and others as defined by Division Operating Procedures.

　　Perform Volatiles testing, LOI (Loss on Ignition) testing and stepped Volatile testing.

　　Perform sand distribution testing for incoming sand, system sand (clay wash), new sand and reclaim sand as defined by Division Operating Procedures.

　　Prepare chemical solutions as needed for testing.

　　Communicate test results and other pertinent sand system details to Molding Line Operators and/or Foreman.

　　Maintain records and perform computer operations associated with daily Sand Lab operations.

　　Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.

　　Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment, including routine equipment standardizations and select calibrations.

　　Perform any other duty assigned by supervision.

　　Skills/Requirements

　　High school diploma and one year of prior related work experience required.

　　Must be mechanically inclined.

　　Two years’ experience or the equivalent in metallurgical and/or sand laboratory equipment, operation and maintenance preferred.

　　Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

　　The hourly range for this position is $19.45 - $24.30. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
