Summary
The Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) organization is looking to add a Metallurgical Process Control (MPC) technician (P3) to the team. This position assures that all Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE) and thermal processing equipment meet the requirements as specified in PWA Material Control Lab Manual and other Aerospace requirements. This role will support Quality, Production, and Non-production initiatives utilizing CORE tools. Duties include servicing, repairing & calibrating M&TE, thermal surveys, capability & suitability testing of M&TE, non-conformance investigations, auditing and process approvals. Work activity is 80% manufacturing shop floor environment and 20% bench lab work.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize various types of electronic, thermal, vacuum & flow standards for calibration.
Perform troubleshooting, calibration or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software.
Perform thermal uniformity surveys for different types of furnaces and ovens.
Perform task prioritization.
Interacts with other functional groups (e.g., engineering, manufacturing) on routine technical matters.
Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where some ingenuity and judgment are required.
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Engineering, Quality, Metrology, Calibration or Repair/Troubleshooting Machine Tools and industrial equipment; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR AA/AS degree or equivalent post-high school technical training and 8+ years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Metrology field preferred.
Experience in metrology, and electronic, thermal, vacuum and flow calibration.
Experience electrical and vacuum systems.
Knowledge of material heat treating a plus.
Experience using root cause and process control tools.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical/mechanical systems.
Adept at using hand tools and test equipment.
Knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing operations and Quality requirements.
Strong computer skills with a commitment to accuracy.
Experience with SAP.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
