Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Principal SCADA Engineer with abackground in SCADA and Communications design for Substation Utility orGeneration clients. Technical responsibilities will include the design andreview of any / all of the following: high speed SCADA and Communicationssystems including RTUs, RTACs, HMIs and IEDs; computermodeling/analysis of electrical systems; preparation of specifications forequipment and systems; report preparation; applying codes and standardsand performing and reviewing design computations.Essential Duties:Detailed design and review of SCADA and Communications systems for highvoltage substations including generating single lines, schematics, pointslists and configuration files for RTUs, RTACs, HMIs, IEDs and othercommunications systems componentsDesign and review of SCADA interfaces with Protection and Control designsincluding panel wiring, AC/DC schematics, and Control building and relaypanel layoutsFamiliar with IEC 61850 communication protocolCoordination with other disciplines as neededPerforming site visits for gathering data, site acceptance and commissioningsupportWriting material procurement and construction specifications & evaluatingcontractor bidsFamiliar with NERC SIP regulatory requirementsProtective relay coordination and settings experience preferredFamiliar with interfacing with multiple utility schemes as well as with HVDCsystems, preferredReviewing shop drawingsResearching equipment and client standardsPerforms typical calculations such as equipment and conductor sizing,voltage drop and battery sizingGenerating engineering fee estimatesProviding field support during constructionMentors and teaches less experienced engineers and design staffOccasional overnight travel may be required for client meetings and or sitevisitsRequired skills, education, and experience:BSEE from and ABET accredited University15+ years of protection and control design experienceExperience working directly with clients, supporting marketingproposals/efforts preferredExperience managing a design budget and schedule preferredMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsPE license preferredSalary Range: Base Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actualcompensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education,experience, skillset, and/or location.
