  Job Description:

  If you enjoy problem solving, uncovering opportunities for process improvement, identifying and mitigating risks, and leading cross-functional teams, this job is for you! You will be responsible for building and monitoring processes for product families that reduce risk and enhance the Compliance Management System for the Product and Portfolio organization.

  Responsible for an operational excellence initiative and the establishment of a standard incident process across multiple areas within Discover. Implements a framework which facilitates an operating environment to deliver a consistent best-in-class customer experience and flawless execution. Provides overall program management and thought leadership to problem solve and implement solutions across key dimensions: operational performance, incident management, process design, policies and product decisions, technology applications (code quality), stability of the systems environment, development of controls/metrics and overall improvements to technology infrastructure and service delivery.

  Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

  Responsibilities:

  What You’ll Do

  Driving Enhancements to the Compliance Management System for the Product & Portfolio Team.

  Ensure adherence to Change Management risk principles and governance

  Drive quality and timely completion of Change Management activities by Product & Portfolio teams

  Drive best practices for adherence to Change Management

  Acts as a project manager to drive each process forward to ensure projects are completed on time and meet business needs.

  Proactively identify risks within business processes and establish control and risk mitigation activities.

  Effectively challenge new initiatives and proposed changes to existing business processes to ensure defect-free experiences.

  Proactively identify risks and issue trends to establish control, monitoring and mitigation activities.

  Drive organizational engagement for initiatives that drive operational excellence. Includes but not limited to implementing the strategy and ensuring standards/processes are aligned to support goals.

  Implement an operational excellence framework and provide solutions to value streams to implement the components.

  Assess maturity against the operational excellence framework and develop customized action plans for each value stream to drive the highest value.

  Improve capture, documentation of incidents and root cause identification; develop sustainable process to implement which value streams can execute.

  Work closely with Business Units such as Business Technology to ensure quality of system development efforts and identify opportunities to enhance resiliency of Card technology infrastructure.

  Identify effectiveness of operational risk management processes and develop controls to ensure adherence to risk management standards.

  Coordinate with leaders of Operational Excellence initiatives across lines of business to ensure application of best practices and establish enterprise standards where appropriate.

  Provide timely communication and transparency; work across key stake holders proactively communicating with all levels of the organization to drive implementation, execution and continuous improvement.

  Minimum Qualifications

  At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

  6+ years of experience in Operations Management, Process Management, Technology, Lean/Six Sigma, Operations, Risk Management or related field

  In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Operations Management, Process Management, Risk Management or related field

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology

  Certified Lean, Six Sigma or Agile

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  Project management experience

  Problem solving skills

  Process mapping experience

  Proficient use of workflow software and reporting functions

  Proficient use of Jira issue and project tracking software

  Data mapping skills

  Compensation:

  The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
