  Job Description:

  Responsible for evaluating roadmaps pertaining to information security and identifying risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information. Responsible for identifying risks related to systems and processes used across the business. Drive risk management framework. Analyze competitive strategies, cyber technologies, metrics models, and performance indicators. Contribute to robust and innovative strategic solutions. Assists in identifying, analyzing, and influencing the management of information risks across the business organizations. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

  Responsibilities

  Primary point of contact between Information Security and a business unit. Acts as the principal advisor to upper management in Cybersecurity matters. Provides guidance to Cybersecurity architects in the design and development of security solutions consistent with business goals and risk tolerance. Works closely with business analysts, engineers, and architects to ensure risk is appropriately assessed and considered.

  Designs metrics models and develops advanced capabilities to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication and non-repudiation. Develops unique information security performance and risk indicators to maintain constant awareness of the status of the highly dynamic operating environment. Develops plans and strategies to evaluate controls and operational effectiveness.

  Identifies inherent information security risks resulting from business operations. Identifies critical areas of potential information security risks and opportunities within Discover’s business processes and associated systems.

  Serves as a vulnerability analyst responsible for analyzing vulnerabilities, recommending corrective actions, and summarizing results for relevant reporting.

  Provides alternative options to business partners by translating emerging IT and business trends into risks and opportunities.

  Creates and facilitates constructive discussions and healthy debate with business partners on critical decisions.

  Minimum Qualifications

  At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Security, or related.

  6+ years of experience in Information Security or IT security; Financial Services Industry experience preferred or related experience.

  In lieu of education, 8+ years of experience in Information Security or IT security; Financial Services Industry experience preferred or related experience.

  Preferred Qualifications

  8+ years of experience in Information Security or IT security; Financial Services Industry experience or related experience.

  Master’s degree Business, Computer Science, Information Security, or related.

  GIAC, CompTIA, CISM, CRISC, CDPSE, CCSP or similar.

  Compensation:

  The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
