  Job Description

  About Intel Foundry Services (IFS):

  As an integral part of Intel’s new IDM 2.0 strategy, we are establishing Intel Foundry Services (IFS), a fully vertical, stand-alone foundry business, reporting directly to the CEO. IFS will be a world-class foundry business and major provider of US- and European-based capacity to serve customers globally. IFS will be differentiated from other foundries with a combination of leading-edge packaging and process technology, committed capacity in the US and Europe, and a world-class IP portfolio that customers can choose from, including x86 cores, graphics, media, display, AI, interconnect, fabric and other critical foundational IP, along with Arm and RISC-V ecosystem IPs. IFS will also provide access to silicon design services to help our customers seamlessly turn silicon into solutions, using industry standard design packages. This business unit is completely dedicated to the success of its customers with full P&L responsibilities. This model will ensure that our foundry customers’ products receive our utmost focus in terms of service, technology enablement, and capacity commitments. IFS is already engaged with customers today starting with our existing foundry offerings. We are expanding at a torrid pace to include our most advanced technologies, which are ideal for high-performance applications.

  About the Role:

  The Principal Engineers in design enablement of IFS MAG (Military, Aerospace and Government) Technical Solution Group will represent Intel Foundry Services to work with technical leaders in US government and defense industry bases (DIB) in classified projects. They must have extensive proven technical knowledge in foundry design enablement or design automation support for product development on Intel FinFET process nodes and Intel 18A. They are expected to excel in ability to communicate Intel’s IFS technology roadmap and products. They must be willing to enhance and help create sustainable and scalable system foundry solutions to national security and government through deep partnerships and collaborations. These technical leaders must possess excellent verbal and written communication with ability to translate complex technology to match customer awareness and needs. They must demonstrate the extensive experience of leading critical technical problem solving with innovative solutions to critical challenges in close partnership with other Intel teams and/or ecosystem partners. They are expected to be agile and flexible to work with US government funding agencies and DIBS through close partnership to drive more design wins on Intel Foundry. They need to develop and sustain strong relationships with key technical leaders in Intel’s US government and DIB customers to enable support for IFS and become a trusted partner who can influence technology decisions and role model execution excellence for IFS. This is a highly cross functional role that requires proven deep technology expertise in analog design and analysis, exquisite partnership skills, ability to scale through others, mental agility and flexibility, and a willingness to adapt in customer first spirit while still leading with conviction on behalf of IFS for Intel.

  Responsibilities:

  Lead technical design enablement through in-depth technical engagements with USG and DIB customers in close partnership and collaboration on highly challenging classified projects to transition to Intel 18A from legacy none Intel legacy process nodes.

  Educate and train USG and DIB customers of Intel process technologies, especially Intel 18A and guide the customers to take full advantage of what Intel process nodes have to offer to achieve superb PPA improvement over legacy non-Intel nodes (e.g. GF12)

  Educate, train and support USG and DIB customers of IFS PDK and the industry standard RTL-to-GDSII tool flow methodologies to accelerate the development of the customers’ design transition from legacy non-Intel process node.

  Educate, train and support USG and DIB customer of Intel BKMs to assess and improve power, performance and area.

  Educate, train and support USG and DIB customer of Intel BKMs for system level optimization including judicious use of advanced packaging technology

  Bridging the technology understanding of USG/DIB technical leadership and decision makers and Intel’s roadmap for long term sustained partnership

  Reliable, ethical, highly motivated technical leader and manager

  Identify and communicate potential public sector opportunities and threats, develop technical solutions with the USG/DIB partners for improvement or mitigation strategies.

  Support Intel public sector sales and federal teams to drive and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs and key initiatives in concert with Intel business objectives.

  Work collaboratively with Intel internal teams to ensure alignment and mutual support with the best of the rest of Intel and explore timely reuse of internal crown jewels to help accelerate customer’s development.

  Additional Skills:

  Demonstrate proven experience in leading role of foundry design enablement for IFS customers or design automation support for key Intel products on Intel FinFet and Intel 18A. Excel in hands-on experience with using and supporting industry standard RTL-to-GDSII tool flow methodologies using Intel PDK through multiple tape-out, with proven proficiency through both pre-si and post-si activities leading to PRQ ,

  Successful track record of collaborating across organizational lines of various Intel engineering teams in addition to problem solving in ambiguous and never before seen business/customer situations.

  Successful track record of leading/influencing teams, task forces and engaging with management with an ability to synthesize technical details and translate into field, customer and business value.

  Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work independently and identify technical and business goals that will successfully grow unit, revenue and profitability goals.

  Listens deeply to customers, translating future requirements into strategic product requirements that direct Intel's critical engineering and innovation priorities.

  Established record of success in partnering with USG and DIBs in managing engineering projects in the area related to national security

  Proven leadership experience in building high-performance teams with strong customer orientation and result-orientation.

  Actively role models IFS leadership principles prioritizing serving customers, driving an "ownership" mindset, bringing clarity and leading through ambiguity.

  Proactively champions diversity, sponsoring talent and creating an inclusive environment; creates safe environments where all employees are heard and can do their best work; seeks and welcomes feedback on his/her own performance and leadership approach.

  Excellent strategic thinking and planning, and strong execution and customer management and influencing skills.

  Demonstrated track record of increasingly leveraging expertise to drive innovation, challenge status quo, and significantly enrich their sphere of influence.

  Qualifications

  MS, PhD in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or any related field of study and 15+ years of relevant experience.

  10+ years of experience in leading multidisciplinary, research/industry and government teams, solving complex technical problems in multiple technical domains working with USG/DIBs in areas associated with national security

  Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

  Security Clearance:

  This position requires candidate to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance upon acceptance of offer.

  Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $186,760.00-$299,166.00

  *Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

  Working Model

  This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
