　　About the Role:

　　The Associate Director (Principal Data Scientist) will partner with Employer and Individual (E&I) Out-of-Network (OON) Analytic team(s) and Business units to build scalable solutions to business problems. The role requires strong collaboration with internal partners to set the analytics direction and to deliver on identified opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to creating and maintaining clear, strategic vision and a plan for bringing actionable, innovative analytic solutions to fruition.

　　Primary Responsibilities:

　　Contribute to directing and implementing analytic activities to drive decision-making for UnitedHealthcare E&I OON Build scalable data, analytics, and reporting solutions to support core business functions and strategies Collaborate with stakeholders across horizontals and verticals to understand their analytic needs, propose & deliver business solutions and drive change Anticipate customer needs, proactively develop & deliver solutions to meet them, and forecast/predict the impact to the business Implement process improvement initiatives and automation for efficiency where appropriate Research, interpret, and analyse diverse and complex data and communicate findings to influence the business direction Utilise a broad range of analytic approaches including predictive analytics, issue detection, trend analysis, and data visualisation to best address the business priorities

　　Required Qualifications :

　　Degree Qualified (BA, BS) in relevant field (analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experience Career experience as data science practitioner, ideally with large, diverse, complex data sets Seasoned proficiency in analytic modelling using at least one scripting language such as R or Python Proven SQL and other data manipulation skills across structured and unstructured sources/repositories such as databases, CSV's, API's, text, Excel, etc. Basic proficiency in data visualisation, leveraging tools like Excel, Tableau, PowerBI Proven ability to gain subject matter expertise through individual research and self-guided analyses Familiarity (practical or theoretical) with cloud-based and distributed computing platforms/systems Demonstrated effective project ownership, management, drive and delivery Stakeholder management and partnership building experience Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally to individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds and skill sets Strong business acumen and ability to strategically consult with business partners

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　Expert proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language such as R or Python. Working experience or knowledge with cloud-based data analytics (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake) Master's and/or PhD in Finance, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or other relevant field of study Experience in healthcare data analytics, either from a pharmaceutical, medical, or consulting background
