The Key responsibility of the president is to be an engaged and forward-thinking representative and advocate for business owners and employers in our community, particularly Chamber members,Primary duties:Cultivate, recruit, and engage prospective and current Chamber members to sustain and grow our membership.Implement a range of services for our members that will meet their current needs a well as advance the community's business objectives.Plan and promote events that provide opportunities for business-to-business networking.Organize and implement programs, activities, and events that allow members to promote their businesses' products, services.Recruit and motivate volunteers from the membership to participate on various Chamber committees.Be responsible to the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, including providing management, input and guidance to the board and its subcommittees.Additional responsibility includes being President of the Raytown chamber of Commerce Building Foundation.Serve as the spokesperson and representative of the Chamber to the membership, community, governmental entities and officials, and other community organizations.Hire, train, motivate, and supervise Chamber office staff in a workplace conducive to maximum performance and strong employee and member morale.Manage Chamber finances, prepare and adhere to the annual budget, and maintain all records.Preferred Qualities:Engaging personality, business acumen, and strong communication skills are essential.Develop and maintain working relationships with local elected officials from a non-partisan, business centered mindset.Engaged community member with awareness of the community's trends and challenges; competent first response business resource.Proficiency in core accounting principles, Microsoft Office including Publisher, Quick Books Online and a membership database.(Chamber Master).Ability to create and implement engaging social media and marketing content to promote Chamber events, member news, community information and the general brand of the Chamber.Ability to learn new technology systems including but not limited to backed updates to the Chamber website.Preferred Qualifications:Chamber Experience PreferredExperience in non-profit management or board service strongly neededBusiness Experience
**Benefits:
Salary-$45,000 - $55,000 annually20% commission paid on all new members10 paid holidays, 80 hours vacation, 2 personal days and 6 sick days annually.Cell phoneMutually agreed upon Paid TrainingMainly in-person position with office hours.
