Position Summary* *Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will be responsible for timely and accurate pre-registration and insurance verification. The Pre-registration Registrar will use a variety of the Hospital’s patient information related systems, assesses each case related concern and resolves issues with regards to appointments, financial matters, and clearance for Radiology and other Outpatient services. Shares information with appropriate personnel to ensure the smooth processing of patients’ appointments and information.

　　Smiles and provides caring customer service.

　　· Ensures procedures are scheduled for the required services including any necessary changes to appointments based on patient request.

　　· Contacts patients to collect demographic and insurance information.

　　· Searches MPI completely to ensure assignment of the correct medical record number. Notifies medical records for any duplicate medical record number(s)..

　　· Contacts physician’s office, when necessary, to resolve any issues regarding prior authorization or referral forms.

　　· Communicates all exam prep information directly to the patient including directions and registration arrival times to the facility and imaging department.

　　· Research’s the patients visit history to ensure compliance with Medicare’s 72 hour rule.

　　· Uses the hospitals computer system for making account notes for others to reference, as appropriate.

　　· Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.

　　· Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.

Auditory skills, effective verbal & communication skills, hand/finger dexterity, critical thinker, ability to type 30 WPM with high degree of accuracy.
