Job Description
Position Overview
As a Power Trading Associate, you will be a member of the team that isresponsible for optimizing returns on transactions for Invenergy\'sfleet of Renewable and Natural Gas assets in the United States andCanada, ensuring that transactions maximize gross margins withinpre-defined risk limits, and actively seek opportunities to minimizecredit exposure and reduce transaction costs.
Responsibilities
Support trading activities with the risk management, financialreporting, asset management and settlements functions.Support trading floor operations, including but not limited to,transaction execution, energy scheduling, support of the developmentof analytical tools, support of after-the-fact analysis andtranslate those results.Support the origination and execution of mid-marketing transactionsfor structured hedges, involvement in negotiations of enablingagreements such as ISDA, NAESB, and EEI.Provide accurate reporting of hedges that adhere to constraints ofthe assets\' project finance structures, including the use of swaps,options, FTRs/CRRs, basis trades, REC trades and other structuredproducts.Interface with external customers, partners, and brokers. Internallythis position will interact with teams such as commercialtransactions, trading, asset management, risk, and accounting.Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Math,Business, or a related field.Knowledge of energy markets: ERCOT, PJM, SPP, NYISO, and MISOdesired.Understanding of renewable generation and how it interacts withRTOs, Transmission Owners, and Balancing Authorities.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.Experience with Allegro and Adapt2 systems preferred.Strong asset and transaction modeling skills.Experience working with basic programming, data or workflow tools(e.g. PowerBI, SQL) is a plus.Benefits
