Position Description National Grid Renewables is seeking a, highly motivated, Power Marketing Analyst to join our team whose main responsibility is to lead wholesale market operations, manage wholesale market commercial risks, and develop strategies and execute transactions to manage merchant market risk. The ideal candidate will be a reliable, dynamic, high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is self-directed, can multi-task effectively, and effectively contribute across multiple organizational functions including trading, structuring, marketing, origination, fundamentals, and finance. Attention to detail, strong analytical, quantitative and energy financial modelling capabilities, effective verbal, written, and analysis communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong business acumen, dependability, results-oriented, collaborative teammate, with a passion to learn, are pre-requisites to success in this role. ​​​​​​Main Responsibilities Develop and maintain analysis tools and reports to support power marketing business activity and team. Support daily energy market transaction activity from analysis, through execution, and position reports. Maintain current expertise of analytical and modeling tools and contacts with external energy markets. Liaise across internal functions associated with power market activities to develop business cases to pursue new commercial opportunities and seek management decisions and approvals. Maintain current expertise of analytical and modeling tools and contacts with external energy markets. Contribute thought-leadership towards proactive value capture and risk mitigation opportunities. Expand personal skills and capability, understanding, and contacts in renewable energy markets. Develop active relationships with wholesale market industry participants (ISOs, service providers, brokers, marketers, exchanges, advisors, counterparties, and customers across the North America renewable energy industry (and MISO, SPP, PJM & SPP wholesale power markets in particular). Qualifications Curious, creative, analytical, results-driven, high-energy, collaborative, optimistic individual. Familiarity with energy and financial markets, trading, hedging and risk management principles. Demonstrated energy product financial modelling experience. Creative, problem-solving ability, and detailed execution focus. Self-starter who works independently AND strong collaborator who works effectively across functions. Strong communication skills – verbal, written and ability to present complex issues effectively. Renewable energy trading analysis experience strongly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, renewable energy, or similar disciplines. Advanced degrees and certifications highly valued, not required. Location Minneapolis (National Grid Renewables headquarters office)
