A Post-Doctoral Fellow is needed to conduct solvent extraction experimentswith actinide metals and synthesize ligands for solvent extraction work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and complete solvent extraction experiments with actinides.Synthesize ligands used in solvent extraction experiments.Analyze solvent extraction data using radiometric counting techniques.Contribute to technical reports.Contribute to published manuscripts.Work safely in a radioactive materials laboratory.
Additional responsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned including designing system components,troubleshooting experimental designs, contributing to technical reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:PhD in chemistry with experience in analytical chemistry and/or inorganicchemistry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques, data analysis, and erroranalysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Education and Experience:Experience with dispersable radioactive materials and working with radioactivematerials in general is desirableSynthetic experienceProficiency in radiometric counting is desirable
