  Job Description Summary#TeamAAM is searching for a  Global Trade Compliance Leader  to contribute to our Supply Chain Management team within our Driveline organization.  This role will be based out of our World Headquarters in Detroit, MI.

  The Global Trade Compliance Leader is responsible for creating, maintaining, monitoring, and facilitating Customs compliance functions, data management systems, special import trade programs, and overall import feasibility aspects of the import environment. This self-motivated and detail oriented individual will interact with the different departments within AAM and AAM service suppliers to ensure that AAM is paying the appropriate amount of duties and on a timely basis to CBP. This position is also required to interact with various U.S. Governmental agencies on behalf of AAM as required.

  Job DescriptionResponsible for post entry type functionsCTPAT Trade Compliance renewals/maintenance (ISA)FTA handling and working/leading 3rd party service provider, analyzing duty spend and duty avoidance, etc.Broker managementDuty impact strategies/planning studiesDevelopment and facilitation of internal AAM training of departmentsImport and export classificationReview legal reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate submissions are made.Create/maintain trade compliance proceduresAnalyze KPI's, trade related reporting and identify process improvementsLead Business review meetings Customs brokers, service providers and identify cost/process improvementsCreate plans to implement and track cost savings initiativesAll other duties as assigned

  Required Skills and Education7 - 10 years' Trade Compliance experience5 - 7 years' Logistics experience3 - 5 years Customs Brokerage/Consultant experienceTechnical Knowledge of U.S. CBP Regulations and Trade Program RequirementsHTS/Classification (automotive preferred) experiencePost Entry processing experienceERP (i.e., Oracle, Plex preferred)Basic understanding of Finance and Accounts PayableProficient in Microsoft OfficeFlexible, able to meet tight deadlines, and team oriented work ethicExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong investigation and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
