rResponsibilities
rThe NathLab{target="_blank"rel="noopener"} is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking and organizedteam player (Post-doctoral Fellow / Assistant Staff Scientist) to joinour effort to understand genetic mechanisms of lupus, an autoimmunedisease. Using whole genome search, our lab has identified severalgenes/genetic variants, associated with lupus susceptibility. Now we aretrying to understand the specific functional effects of those lupusassociated genetic variants, using cell lines, patients-derived primaryimmune cells or tissues. We will apply various modern techniques forstudying features of three-dimensional (3D) genomic organization such as3C, Hi-C, ChIP-Seq, and genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9. Candidate willbe involved in the analysis of human genetic data and the development ofcomputational methods, which requires a mix of computational skills, statistical knowledge, creativity and biological insight. Specifically, candidate will identify novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers fromthe investigation of human genetic variation (GWAS, Next Gen Sequencing)with disease status and intermediate variables using cutting-edgetechniques in Statistical Genetics. Candidate will develop and applymethods for the integration of GWAS summary results with other types ofdata e.g. eQTL, mQTL, functional genomic annotations, gene networks,estimation/partitioning of heritability, Mendelian Randomization tounderstand causal direction, and fine mapping. Candidate willcollaborate with experimental and clinical scientists to address targetmechanism specific questions and seek to support investment decisionmaking with genomic insights.
