Venue Summary
The Dayton Convention Center (DCC) is the region's premier mid-sized event facility conveniently situated right in the heart of downtown Dayton. Located within a 600-mile radius of close to 70% of the nation’s population and steps from the vibrant Oregon Entertainment District, the 150,000 sq. ft. DCC offers 77,000 sq. ft of column-free exhibition space and 22 meeting rooms including a 750 seat, full stage theater. Managed by ASM Global and owned and developed by the Montgomery County Convention Facilities Authority, the DCC is in the process of completing a major renovation to its facility that will serve to reinforce its status as the venue of choice for the region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes client food & beverage and operational needs for the event.
Assists in developing work plans including scheduling and ordering and assigns appropriate duties to subordinates.
Create Food & Beverage event plans for efficient FOH operations
Oversees Food and Beverage operations during event to ensure client satisfaction and quality control standards.
Inspects food service facilities to ensure that equipment and buildings meet requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations.
Assists with inventory control and cost containment.
Inspects and tastes prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
Works within guidelines for food and labor costs.
Critical action(s) to maintain sanitation standards in all F & B Operations.
Ensures proper POS Terminal training for Cashiers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises employees in the Food & Beverage Department in Catering and/or Concessions.
Assists the Director of Food & Beverage in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Front of House employees within the unit.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities may include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Enforcing the follow through of the open & close checklists with FOH Staff
Ensure FOH Staff maintains organization of, and cleanliness of concession stands at opening, throughout service and at closing.
Ensure FOH Staff maintains organization and cleanliness of all aspects of Catering operations during set up and throughout Catered Events
Organization of storage areas of all FOH & Catering wares
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (AA/AS) in Food & Beverage Management or equivalent experience in a large catering facility
Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership position within Food & Beverage operation
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior supervisory experience
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
