UC's annual budget tops $1.65 billion and its endowment totals $1.8 billion.Job OverviewThe College of Engineering and Applied Science's Department of Engineering and Computing Education is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join Dr. David Reeping's research group. The current research focus of the group cuts across several strands: curricular analytics, threshold concepts in cyber-physical systems, eye-tracking usability studies with web-based information for transfer students, and large language models (i.e., generative AI) in engineering classrooms. We seek a candidate who is eager to deepen their expertise in engineering education research by contributing to funded projects, developing new manuscripts and proposals centered on mutual research interests, and building mentoring skills by assisting with supervising graduate students.This position requires excellent writing and verbal communication with demonstrated success in publishing peer-reviewed journal articles. The candidate must have a well-developed understanding of the literature in at least one of the following broad areas: engineering education, higher education, educational research methods. The position also requires a working knowledge of mixed methods research, with a particular emphasis on quantitative research skills. Aptitude with high-level programming languages is desirable (e.g., Python or R). The postdoctoral fellow will be working across a variety of projects, and their primary responsibilities project-wise will be matched to their expertise.This position is for one year with the possibility of a year extension.
