About Porter, Store 162

  Overview: The primary duty of a Porter is to promote Conn’s products through excellent customer service and warehouse support. Porters are experts in our products, with product categories including electronics, appliances, furniture, mattresses, and more. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth

  operations within the store by assisting with the movement, delivery, and organization of all products offered in the showroom. Required to work collaboratively with other store staff, including sales associates, delivery teams, and managers, to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers.

  Key Duties & Responsibilities: The Porter’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, helping answer questions, and providing product information when required.

  Safely and efficiently load, unload, and move furniture and appliances within the store premises.

  Collaborate with the delivery team to load furniture and appliances into delivery trucks, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.

  Help assemble furniture and appliances, following manufacturer instructions and ensuring all products are prepared for display or delivery in pristine condition.

  Assist in organizing and arranging furniture and appliances on the sales floor, ensuring a neat and visually appealing presentation per company guidelines.

  Support in always keeping the backroom clean and tidy, including restocking furniture and appliances in their designated areas.

  Assist in inspecting product during customer pick up per company standards.

  Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment for both staff and customers.

  Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by store management.

  Required Experience:

  High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency

  Physical strength and ability to lift heavy furniture and appliances (with assistance when needed).

  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

  Welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and other associates

  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  Work both independently and with a team.

  Coachable and open to feedback.

  Preferred Experience:

  Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail or furniture environment, is an advantage but not mandatory.

  Customer Service background

  Experience within a retail organization

  Skills & Abilities:

  Work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) regular attendance is necessary.

  Organized and detail oriented.

  Able to multi-task and shift priorities, as required.

  Handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds or more.

  Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.

  Working Conditions:

  Work is performed in a retail store environment.

  Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, packing, and lifting boxes for shipment, and storing inventory.
