We have recently increased the rate of pay for our openings and can now offerhigher pay for lateral transfers. Our starting pay for officers is asfollows:
P.O.S.T. certified with less than 2 years of experience $70,720After completion of one year Initial Performance Review Period with the Cityof Fort Lupton - $76,440 per yearLateral Transfer with 2-3 years of experience - $82,160 per yearLateral Transfer with 4-6 years of experience - $87,880 per yearMaximum pay - $99,320 per year
Starting salary is calculated based on total completed years of lawenforcement experience in accordance with established service credit policy.
The Fort Lupton Police Department is offering up to a $10,000 hiring bonusfor qualified Police Officers
Colorado Police Officers with two years or more of consecutive law enforcementexperience may qualify for a $10,000 hiring bonus.Experience requirement excludes training and field training time.Experience must be served with one law enforcement agency.Only patrol experience counts towards the two year requirement.Must be in good standing with the law enforcement agency (termination orsignificant discipline may disqualify applicants for the $10,000 bonus).
Colorado Police Officers with less than two years consecutive law enforcementexperience may qualify for a $5,000 hiring bonus.Must be in good standing with the law enforcement agency, if currently orpreviously employed by a law enforcement agency.Termination or significant discipline from most recent law enforcementemployer, if applicable, may disqualify applicants for the $5,000 bonus.
Applicants who are currently in a POST academy, or graduated within sixmonths prior to applying, may also qualify for up to $5000 tuitionreimbursement, subject to a two year employment contract, in addition tothe hiring bonus.
The hiring bonus is paid in two installments. The first half of the bonus ispaid upon completion of initial training (including field training). Thesecond half is paid upon completion of the initial performance period.
