　　Eligibility:

　　Employees wishing to take this examination shall be eligible to do so only if they have held a classified position with the San Antonio Police Department for two (2) years or more, as of the date of the exam, immediately below the rank for which the examination is to be held.

　　Purpose and Vacancies:

　　The purpose of this examination is to establish an eligibility list to fill the vacancies as they are approved in the classification of Police Lieutenant. The eligibility list will be valid for 18 months from the date of certification by the Commission or until the list is exhausted.

　　Registration:

　　Registration for this examination will take place online beginning on January 20, 2024 at 7:45 AM and concluding on January 30, 2024, at 4:30 PM. The registration link will be emailed to all eligible candidates at their city email address from [email protected] .

　　Time and Place of Examination:

　　A two (2) hour written examination will be given at 9:00 AM on May 14, 2024, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 900 East Market Street, Room 006.

　　Photo identification will be required

　　No cell phones, electronic devices, backpacks, books, food or drinks will be permitted inside the exam room

　　Review of Examination:

　　The five (5) day review period will begin May 15, 2024, at 7:45 AM and conclude May 21, 2024, at 4:30 PM. Information regarding the review location will be emailed to each candidate following the written exam.

　　The five-day review will be held during regular COSA business hours, excluding weekends and holidays

　　Photo identification will be required

　　No cell phones, study material, backpacks or personal items will be permitted inside the review room

　　Information on Video Assessment (Part Two):

　　As stated in Article 11, Section 3.I of the Police Collective Bargaining Agreement, the second portion of this promotional examination process will be a Video Recorded Assessment weighted as 60 points of the overall score. Information regarding the video recorded assessment center will be provided to the candidates at a later date.
