Position Title: PLC Programmer Senior Specialist
Position Location: Must relocate to or live in Atlanta, GA

JOB SUMMARY
The PLC Programmer Senior Specialist provides technical support and leadership to plan, schedule and execute software engineering and implementation of PLC-based Building Automation System (BAS), Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and software integration projects in industrial, utility, manufacturing, and mission critical / technology sectors.
The PLC Programmer Senior Specialist will work with design engineers, project managers, field technicians, construction contractors, equipment vendors and client staff to ensure proper operation and acceptance of the automation and software solutions.
The PLC Programmer Senior Specialist will be self-directed on day-to-day work and receive high level instruction on new projects or assignments. \u202F Will execute and lead automation projects of complex scope.\u202F May coordinate activities of other personnel.
This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Engineer and Implement PLC Software Programming for Projects (50%)
Lead creation and modification of PLC programming logic to meet sequence of operations
Lead control, monitoring and systems integration of HVAC and electrical equipment and systems
Lead Level 2 and Level 3 testing of integrated systems in conjunction with field technicians
Lead Level 4 and 5 testing with commissioning teams
Communicate regularly with subcontractors, project managers, AEs and commissioning agents on project progress
Develop and Maintain PLC Software Standards (20%)
Lead development and continuous improvement of PLC configuration, programming, networking, and diagnostic standards
Lead efforts to train and mentor others on software standards
Construction Related Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (10%)
Review engineered shop drawings and submittals (sequence of operations, installation drawings and point lists)
Participate in building automation focused design reviews
Serve as secondary client contact for one or more clients on projects of routine or complex scope
Design and Create Networks for Client Projects (10%)
Assist in the design, configuration, programming, and diagnostics / troubleshooting of BAS networks
Understand IT / OT interface requirements including routers, switches and network addressing
Work with client IT departments to ensure safe and secure systems to meet best practices
Reporting (10%)
Assist with all project communication and reporting
Prepare development of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
Manages personal hours using company tools
Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)
Skilled at programming in Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and Micrologix PLC
Skilled working with opensource protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP, REST API)
Skilled at programming data center power and cooling systems including HVAC and chilled water plants
Knowledge of VLANs, LANs, VPNs and RSTP
Knowledge of IoT and smart building solutions
Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if required
Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Up to 25%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
International travel may be required based on individual skill, training and project needs
Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
Potential relocation opportunities may exist per project needs
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related discipline
OR
Two years of experience with PLC programming, hands-on installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of building management system infrastructure
PLUS
Minimum of eight years of additional experience with PLC programming, testing, validation and troubleshooting of building management system infrastructure
