Our purpose-built products serve our communities with carefully designed and engineered refuse trucks, front-discharge mixer trucks, fire apparatus, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting trucks, service vehicles, and command trucks. Our products are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.

  JOB SUMMARY:

  The Plant Manager will be responsible for enabling a People First culture while leading team(s) in multiple areas of one facility of moderate size in planning, organizing, and executing production plans while driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and costs. This role will ensure all production contractual commitments are satisfied as developed in the Operations strategy and will develop team members for future growth and success.

  This leader will have an exciting opportunity to be a part of a brand-new start up location reporting to the General Manager and will work onsite from the Murfreesboro, TN location. The Plant Manager will oversee operations for process such as but not limited to welding, fabrication, paint and electrical vehicle assembly operations.

  YOUR IMPACT:

  These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  Oversee the leaders that lead the plant manufacturing process and continuous improvement efforts of a moderate-sized facility (<300 employees).

  Understand production goals and drive for results focused on meeting production forecast and ensure budgeted labor is within plan.

  Interact with external customers and segment leadership on a frequent basis.

  Partner with Operations leadership on execution plans and facility design.

  Communicate short and long-range plans to Operations leaders.

  Participate and support individual career development and skills training while focusing on continuous improvement.

  Monitor operation/production status, labor, and expenses to ensure alignment with overall Operations budget and plan.

  Ensure key measurements such as production schedules, goals, and budgets are established and achieved.

  Encourage and participate in individual career development that supports robust processes to improve quality and productivity.

  Develops top talent within the organization in preparation for broader leadership roles.

  Drives for improvements in quality, efficiencies and cost reduction through continuous improvement and team member development.

  Conflict resolution is undertaken to resolve problems.

  Employee involvement and safety is promoted and supported.

  Attends daily/weekly production, staff, marketing, business unit, and CIP meetings.

  Relevant business topic and plans for execution are prepared ahead and discussed at meeting.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, or in a related field.

  Ten (10) plus years in manufacturing and leading/developing others.

  STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  Experience with automotive or heavy-duty equipment manufacturing.

  Experience with electric vehicle manufacturing and assembly operations.

  Knowledge in six sigma principles

  Leadership and interpersonal skills desirable

  Proven project management experience.

  Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
