The University of Chicago\'s Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and theUniversity of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC) seekapplications for appointment as full or associate professor, with fullprofessor preferred. Appointment will be in an appropriate basic orclinical department and will focus on basic or translational cancerresearch. Thematic priorities including: cancer biology, immunology,cellular therapy, epigenetics, metabolism, immunometabolism, medicinalchemistry, target discovery or other cancer -related strategic areas ofimportance.
The appointee will interact with other faculty to expand the CancerCenter and the Department\'s research portfolio, be responsible forbuilding, strengthening, and fostering relevant cancer-relatedactivities, and will play an important role in carrying out the CancerCenter\'s strategic plan.
The UCCCC delivers outstanding patient care, conducts world-renownedresearch, and provides exemplary undergraduate, graduate, medical, andpostgraduate education. The UCCCC received NCI designation in 1974 anddesignation as a comprehensive cancer center in 2008; its mission is toelucidate the determinants of cancer, to develop cures for cancer, andto prevent cancer through research, clinical care, education, andcommunity engagement. Members of the UCCCC collaborate widely across theBSD, with other Divisions, Schools, and Institutes at the University ofChicago, and with researchers at Argonne National Laboratory and theMarine Biological Laboratory.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must hold adoctoral degree or equivalent and qualify for appointment as a tenuredfaculty member.
