W.R. Grace is hiring a Plant Manager for our Chattanooga, TN manufacturing site, reporting to the Vice President of Regional Manufacturing. Located along the South Chickamauga Creek in Chattanooga, the site produces Refining Technology (FCC) products such as rare earth intermediates, additives, Specialty Catalysts, Raney® granular, activated slurry and fixed bed, support activators, silica/alumina extrudates; and Advanced Refining Technologies, such as Selectox. .
As a Plant Manager, you will lead all site operations and be responsible for the financial performance and ensure compliance with regulatory, EHS, quality systems assuring proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities. You will drive world class EHS performance, operational and maintenance excellence, Six Sigma productivity programs, capital planning and engineering, and quality systems.

Responsibilities
Foster a positive teamwork environment that drives collaborative decision making by engaging and empowering employees to contribute to the plant’s strong performance
Incorporate and monitor site KPI’s - Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost used to measure overall performance and engage staff to develop plan to continuously improve performance
Drive a safety mindset for self, employees, and site visitors ensuring safe conditions and behaviors and drive compliance with EHS&S standards; lead a Goal Zero culture.
Manage the raw material, intermediate and finished product management in order to deliver committed inventory levels
Manage the plants annual operating plan to deliver cost per metric ton commitments
Develop productivity initiatives
Develop and manage 5-year Capital plan to deliver benefits of the investment; ensure compliance with monthly forecast and deliver projects on schedule-on budget
Lead Tier 4 accountability meeting
Implement Tier 1, 2 and 3 accountability meetings at the plant
Lead the implementation of GMS (Grace Management Systems) fundamentals
Intimately aware of and committed to meeting or exceeding customer (internal as well as external) requirements
Coordinate staffing with HR and Grace Leadership to determine proper staffing levels
Actively participate in the development and implementation of programs and technical training for all employees
Physical Requirements and Environment
Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience in progressive leadership roles
Must have experience developing and executing plant strategy- cost optimization, full asset utilization, de-bottleneck, fungibility, capacity creation
Financial acumen and ability to understand and manage effectively the contributors and influencers of cost per metric ton
A bility to effectively communicate at all levels, adjusting style appropriately
Demonstrated experience with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Experience working within Management Operating System
Experience with Supply Chain Management (plan, source, make, deliver)
Ability to balance corporate and site-specific priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Union Environment
Experience in Change Management Process
Oliver Wight or Apex Systems Planning Software
